Apple's iPhone Duo Preorders Slip to January 2027 After 'Extraordinary' Demand

Apple says iPhone Duo early demand is 'extraordinary' as U.S. shipping estimates for new preorders slip to January 2027.

The report said Apple characterized the demand in a statement to CNBC. Apple also told CNBC it is "working hard to get this revolutionary new product into customers' hands as quickly as possible, and we will continue accepting orders online," according to Engadget.

Delivery windows vary by order timing. Engadget reported that some online customers were able to arrange Apple Store pickup for their iPhone Duo orders as early as October 23, while others received shipping estimates for November and December. Customers who missed the earliest waves of preorders saw January delivery windows on the online Apple Store, along with a pickup option that said to "Check back for availability on 10.24."

Apple has previously mentioned "shopping in-store or online for iPhone Duo," but the company has not confirmed whether its physical locations or other authorized retailers will have in-store stock, Engadget reported. Best Buy's website was showing iPhone Duo shipping estimates for November at the time the article was published.
