Apple's iPhone Duo to launch with day-one app support, Android Authority reports

Apple says its first foldable, the iPhone Duo, will launch with day-one support from dozens of apps, including Netflix and Word.

In a blog post, Apple listed major and lesser-known iPhone apps tailored for the foldable, according to Android Authority. The supported apps include streaming services Netflix, Prime Video and Paramount Plus, while sports properties MLB and the PGA Tour were also included. Productivity apps Microsoft Word and Outlook were on the list as well.

Some names were missing from the launch-day lineup, the report said. Apple's disclosure came after the iPhone Duo announcement, when app support emerged as a central question for the company's first entry into the foldable segment.

Android Authority said the day-one app support contrasts with the state of Android apps on foldable devices, which the report said still suffer from optimization issues despite having been available for years.

Preorders for the iPhone Duo opened last week, and general sales are scheduled to begin tomorrow, according to the report. The launch-day list covers both major and lesser-known apps, Apple said in the blog post cited by Android Authority.
