Apple's major Home product overhaul leaks via macOS 26.7 references

A new leak in macOS 26.7 RC reveals multiple unreleased Apple Home devices, including HomePad, HomePod mini 2, a security camera, and a next-gen Siri Remote, ahead of the expected fall event.

The code names cited by MacRumors include J490 and J491 for the HomePad, believed to be versions with a base and a wall-mount, respectively. A device with the codename B525 is likely the HomePod mini 2, as the original HomePod mini uses B520. The string "Home Accessory" with codename J229 is believed to refer to a security camera. There are also new mentions of "HomeAccessory17,2" and "HomeAccessory17,3," which have not been identified.

The leak also references ATVRemote1,5, presumably the next-generation Siri Remote expected to accompany a new Apple TV 4K. Other Home products reported to be in development, such as a video doorbell and a tabletop robotic hub, were not confirmed in this leak.

Beyond devices, MacRumors found a "Pebble" reference believed to be the codename for homeOS, and a string called "audio_accessory_visual_reasoning" that could be tied to the HomePad. The leak also lists four colors for an unspecified Home accessory: Rose Pink, Silver, Space Gray, and Starlight.

Apple's annual hardware event is expected within weeks, with rumored launches including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone Ultra, new Apple Watch models, and the new Home products.
