Apple Says Two iOS 27 Features Will Arrive in a Future Software Update

Apple updated its website this week to show that it has pulled the features from iOS 27 for now. The same change applies to other platforms, including iPadOS 27 and macOS 27. Reddit users had noticed that the automatic password change feature was removed in iOS 27 beta 5, and Apple’s website now confirms that it has been removed.

The Messages feature uses the context of a user’s conversation to add items to Reminders, Notes, or Calendar with a single tap. Apple describes the Passwords feature as follows: “Fix passwords with a tap: The Passwords app alerts you to weak or compromised passwords and can update them on your behalf without the hassle.” The app attempts to go directly to websites where a password is weak or compromised and update it automatically. At WWDC, Apple said the feature uses Apple Intelligence and Safari to “agentically take action on your behalf.”

Apple’s website does not provide additional details about when the two features will return to iOS 27. It says only that they are coming in a “future software update.” The company announced the September 14 release date for iOS 27 this week.
