Apple Ships iOS 27 With 20-Plus Apple Intelligence Features and a Rebuilt Siri
Apple's iOS 27 arrives with more than 20 new Apple Intelligence features, led by a Siri rebuilt for the large language model era, plus AI additions across Photos, Messages, Mail, Safari and systemwide tools, according to 9to5Mac.
According to Apple's descriptions cited in the report, the new Siri answers questions using broad world knowledge, draws personal context from Messages, Mail, Calendar, Notes and Reminders, and can both respond to and act on content visible on the screen. It also carries out tasks inside apps, including sending messages and creating calendar events.
A standalone Siri app keeps conversation history synced through iCloud across a user's Apple devices, so a session can be resumed where it left off. Write with Siri generates a draft from a description, edits text the user has already written, or returns feedback in most places the user types. Visual Intelligence is integrated with Siri and gains new capabilities, and on compatible hardware users can adjust the pace and expressiveness of the assistant's voices.
