Apple to Open Apple Music Hall in London on Sept. 28

Fans can sign up on a dedicated Apple Music Hall website to be alerted when the first tickets are available, the report said. Apple has not yet announced the first acts for the venue. The hall has a 38-foot-wide stage, a 48-speaker surround sound system for an immersive Spatial Audio experience, and support for more than 16 broadcast cameras as well as iPhone video capture, according to 9to5Mac.

Apple says an artist can do a single intimate performance for fans and immediately have a broadcast-ready mix, Spatial Audio recording and multi-angle video of the event when they are done. The setup is intended to serve both the in-person audience and Apple Music's streaming and broadcast uses.

Alongside the venue, Apple announced new radio station studios at Battersea, the report said. All London-based Apple Music Radio hosts are now broadcasting from there. The radio studios and the performance hall put Apple Music's London operations in the same Battersea Power Station development.

The venue is scheduled to open on Sept. 28, although the first acts have not been announced. The report did not say how tickets will be priced, how many concerts will be held or what the full schedule will be. The 600-person capacity indicates a focus on small, one-off shows rather than large arena concerts, with the live stream and recording setup intended to extend each performance to Apple Music subscribers and Apple's broadcast output.
