Apple TV Announces 'The Wanted Man,' Starring Hugh Laurie as a Crime Boss
Apple TV has announced The Wanted Man, a crime drama starring Hugh Laurie as a betrayed crime boss who plots an escape. It premieres January 6.
Hugh Laurie stars as a crime boss who is betrayed by someone at his firm, is sent to prison, and plans to break out. The cast also includes Thandiwe Newton, Fionn Whitehead, Gina McKee, Hazel Doupe, Elliott Heffernan, and Stephen Dillane.
The Wanted Man comes from George Kay, the creator of the Idris Elba thriller Hijack.
Apple’s official plot summary says: “When organized crime boss Felix Carmichael (Hugh Laurie) is betrayed by someone inside his own firm and sent to the notorious Staplehurst prison, he’s forced to remember his own brutality to fight for survival. With his family, firm and fortune at stake, Felix resolves to do the unthinkable: escape.”
For viewers looking for more crime-centric series, Last Seen and a new season of Slow Horses are both airing now, and will be joined next month by the Liev Schreiber-starring Nocturne.
