Apple TV Sets Jan. 29, 2027, Premiere for ‘Fleetwood Mac: The Chain’ Documentary
Apple TV sets Jan. 29, 2027, premiere for Frank Marshall’s Fleetwood Mac documentary ‘The Chain,’ 9to5Mac reports.
Apple TV confirmed the title and date in a post on X. Marshall’s credits include “The Beach Boys” and “From Earth to the Moon.” The film brings together the voices, memories and perspectives of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, Apple TV said, and the platform described it as a “definitive and unprecedented look” at the band’s story.
According to Apple TV’s description, the documentary follows the five members after their “fortuitous meeting in 1974” and traces more than 50 years of their history. It includes record-breaking recordings and tours, never-before-seen footage and exclusive new interviews, and runs through to the present. Apple TV said the film examines how the band’s trials and tribulations, personal resilience and musical dexterity combined to create songs that have stood the test of time.
The description says the film covers the highs and lows of the band’s career and the ingredients each member brought to what Apple TV calls an uncommon alchemy. Fleetwood Mac has sold more than 220 million records worldwide, according to the platform. The documentary explores what allowed the combination of artists to create singular musical work again and again, and what drew them back together and held them there when pressures inside and outside the band threatened to pull them apart.
No full trailer has been released, but Apple TV shared a short teaser on X. The documentary will join Apple TV’s music-documentary catalog, which includes “Beastie Boys Story,” “The Velvet Underground,” “Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry,” “Louis Armstrong’s Black & Blues” and “Bono: Stories of Surrender.” Apple TV costs $14.99 per month or is available through the Apple One bundle; its lineup includes “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” “The Studio,” “The Morning Show,” “Shrinking” and “Silo.”
