Apple updates Final Cut Camera for iPhone 18 Pro and refreshes Pages, Keynote, Numbers, Pixelmator Pro, Freeform

Final Cut Camera was first announced in May 2024 and released a month later. Apple describes it as a way to record professional videos with full control of footage and connect to Final Cut Pro for iPad to capture multiple angles at once with Live Multicam. Version 2.4 adds support for iPhone 18 Pro's variable aperture from f/1.48 to f/4, including shutter priority, aperture priority, and manual modes. It also supports Cinematic mode effects on iPhone 18 Pro, including video shot in ProRes and Apple Log. The update is available on the App Store and requires a subscription to Apple Creator Studio, which costs $12.99 per month or $129 per year.

In the iWork suite, Apple said the updates bring support for Siri AI, letting users ask Siri questions about their documents and get answers. Users can also request access to a shared presentation, document, or spreadsheet, so the file owner no longer needs to initiate sharing. Pages for Mac gains Screen View, which optimizes content for reading and focused writing. Numbers adds new trigonometry, statistics, and logic functions for complex spreadsheet problems. Apple Creator Studio subscribers receive new templates and themes across all three iWork apps, and Keynote gains intelligent slide generation that automatically makes images tailored to a given presentation.

Pixelmator Pro on iPad adds Select and Mask tools that were previously available only on Mac. The Mac and iPad apps also gain two template collections for sports and action-centric projects, plus new templates for launching a new creative idea, business, or product. A new Podcasts category provides cover artwork sized to fit well on major podcast platforms.

Freeform gains several requested features. Boards now automatically adapt to Dark Mode, and folders let users organize boards into collections and invite others to collaborate. Writing Tools with Apple Intelligence can rewrite, proofread, and summarize handwritten notes. Users can request access to collaborate on shared files or automate adding content using Shortcuts. In visionOS 27, Freeform lets users pull multiple items from a board, including images, videos, sticky notes, shapes, and 3D models, into their space, and view 3D models together as a group.

Apple said some additions are exclusive to Apple Creator Studio, but select features will be available for all users. The Final Cut Camera update and the app updates began rolling out on September 29, 2026.
