Apple Updates Mac Mini and Mac Studio With New Chips and Higher Prices

The Verge's Installer newsletter reports new Mac mini and Mac Studio models, plus a Nokia charging phone, Wyze privacy camera, and Garmin Fenix 9 watches.

The newsletter also detailed several other product announcements. HMD's Nokia 300 Charge is an old-school candybar-style dumbphone that also functions as a power bank and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack. Wyze's Indoor Cam Pan, priced at $39.98, can tilt 360 degrees horizontally and 103 degrees vertically, and has a privacy mode that fully tilts the lens into the camera body.

Among other highlights, Garmin introduced the Fenix 9 and 9 Pro smartwatches with OLED screens, 64GB of storage, and optional solar-charging displays on the two larger sizes of the 9 Pro. The Fenix 9 starts at $999.99, while the Pro starts at $1,099.99. The newsletter also mentioned the Switch 2 version of Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, saying it was worth the wait after a delay, and a $149 Whoop Meridian Band made of Milanese mesh, noting that the Whoop tracker cannot be charged while in the band.

Ahead of Apple's Sept. 9 launch event, the newsletter also featured the homescreen of Daring Fireball's John Gruber, who uses an iPhone 17 Pro with 1TB of storage and a dark gray-to-black gradient wallpaper.
