ASUS Googlebook renders leak days before September 21 pre-orders
Leaked ASUS Googlebook renders surface days before pre-orders for the new Google laptop platform open on September 21.
Google announced Googlebooks in May, and the initial lineup will include models from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo, according to Android Authority. Pre-orders are scheduled to start on the morning of Monday, September 21, the site reported, describing the launch as the debut of a new computing platform.
The new images were published by Mac Observer, which Android Authority called possibly the best look yet at the ASUS machine. Neither report detailed the hardware shown in the renders, and no pricing, specifications or shipping date for the ASUS model were included.
The leaks follow a summer in which images and details of the first Googlebook devices circulated steadily. Android Authority said several earlier leaks had already offered an early view of ASUS's model, and the newest renders arrive with only days left before ordering opens.
The reports carried no statements from Google or ASUS. The renders remain unofficial ahead of the pre-order date.
