Amazon has cut the Asus ZenScreen MB166C 15.6-inch portable monitor to £72.64 from £93.98, a saving of about 23%, according to TechRadar. The 780g USB-C display offers Full HD resolution, automatic orientation and a tripod socket.

TechRadar reported that the monitor has a 1920 x 1080 Full HD IPS panel, a 60Hz refresh rate and an anti-glare finish. A single USB-C connection handles DisplayPort video. It weighs 780g, which the publication said makes it easy to carry in a laptop bag. It also includes automatic screen orientation, Eye Care technology, a foldable protective sleeve and a built-in tripod socket. The screen has 178-degree viewing angles.

According to TechRadar, the ZenScreen MB166C is best suited to professionals and travelers who want a second laptop screen they can carry between home, the office or trips away. The publication said previous Asus portable monitors in the ZenScreen line had performed well in testing, but described this model as more practical. It noted that the 15.6-inch panel provides more working space, and that the display can switch automatically between landscape and portrait orientations. The tripod socket offers an alternative to the included foldable sleeve, while the viewing angles should make positioning easier in cramped spaces.

TechRadar noted that the current deal is not the lowest price seen for this screen. It has been available for as low as £69 in the past, which is only £4 less than the current deal price. The publication said buyers should consider the ZenScreen MB166C if they regularly work away from a permanent desk and miss the additional screen space of a desktop setup. It is particularly useful for keeping email, documents or reference material on a second display while working on a laptop.

TechRadar advised skipping the monitor if a laptop does not support USB-C connectivity, or if the buyer is a creative professional. It said the 60Hz refresh rate and 250-nit brightness are geared more toward productivity and general use.
