Audi A6 e-tron Sets 831-Mile Single-Charge Range Record

Mikołaj Marczyk, who in 2025 covered 1,759 miles on a single tank of fuel in a Skoda Superb, began the attempt in Zakopane, Poland. The route crossed the Tatra Mountains, whose descents offered plenty of opportunity for regenerative braking, then ran through Kraków and along the Vistula Valley to Sandomierz before reaching Hel. From Hel, Marczyk turned around and retraced his steps until the car finally stopped, having covered 831.4 miles.

The car used was an Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance, fitted with a 326-horsepower rear-mounted motor and a 100 kWh gross battery whose usable capacity is 94.9 kWh. The previous record holder, the Lucid Air Grand Touring, carries a nominally larger 112 kWh battery pack, TechRadar reported.

Marczyk said much of the trip was completed in rush-hour traffic at an average temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, with the mercury dropping to 7 degrees Celsius at certain points. He attributed the result to driving technique rather than to unusual conditions, citing the use of every available regenerative braking opportunity, regular checks of tire pressure and reading the road ahead to avoid abrupt braking as measures that can substantially extend an electric car's range.

TechRadar noted that advertised range figures for modern EVs are typically 10 to 20 percent higher than what drivers achieve in real-world use, a gap that widens in cold weather. In this case, the single-charge total exceeded the official rating rather than falling short of it.
