Baidu Dazi Fully Integrates into Xiaodu Hardware, Bringing AI Agents to Family Spaces

Baidu Dazi is now fully integrated into Xiaodu hardware, bringing AI agents to homes, announced at Baidu AI Day on Sept. 8.

After the upgrade, Super Xiaodu is no longer limited to receiving and responding to commands. It can autonomously break down goals, coordinate tools and deliver tasks end to end. For family schedule management, parents can create family schedules and children's homework with a single sentence sent via WeChat, and the tasks are automatically synced to smart screens with notifications to family members. In children's learning companion scenarios, the system lets children check in and submit audio/video assignments on Xiaodu devices, interact with digital pets, or generate applications using a single sentence. The agent-enabled caregiving feature has also been upgraded to version 2.0, allowing users to state care needs verbally; Super Xiaodu then automatically decomposes them into multi-dimensional care tasks, applies tiered reminder settings, and uses long-term data to generate habit-development reports.

The family AI-agent services now cover more scenarios such as children's growth companionship, family health management and life services. The upgraded Super Xiaodu comes with four new hardware products: the Xiaodu Tiantian Guimi Machine Ultra, Xiaodu Smart Display X9 Ultra, Xiaodu Smart Camera C1500 and Xiaodu Smart Speaker Pro Max, with the last one going on sale on Sept. 28.

The integration follows Baidu's completion of a dual primary listing on Sept. 1 and its inclusion in Stock Connect on Sept. 7, according to the report. Baidu is the only full-stack AI company among major Hong Kong-listed technology firms, with an AI layout spanning Kunlun chips, intelligent cloud, the ERNIE large model, general-purpose AI agents such as Baidu Dazi, and physical AI applications such as Apollo Go. Xiaodu has entered more than 55 million households in China, giving Baidu's AI agents a wide base of users and devices in real-life settings. The collaboration between Baidu Dazi and Xiaodu marks Baidu's latest move to deploy its full-stack AI capability in the physical world.
