Baidu Dazi Launches Local Skill Zone for Intel PCs, Adds Hybrid Scheduling

Previously, when an agent handled voice, documents or images, files usually had to be uploaded to the cloud. Running tasks directly on a computer required installing models and configuring environments, which the report described as a high barrier for ordinary users.

The local Skill Zone allows a computer's own compute to handle specific tasks. On Intel Core Ultra AI PCs, speech recognition, text-to-image generation, document parsing and image parsing can be completed locally, while online retrieval and complex analysis are handled in the cloud. Baidu Dazi automatically chooses the processing method based on task characteristics, so users can use the capabilities without understanding the underlying models and technical configuration, according to the report.

An AI product ranking showed that Baidu Dazi reached 6.743 million monthly active users, up 1063.79% month-on-month, ranking first in growth among AI office agents. On the hardware side, Baidu Dazi has opened standardized APIs that support synchronization of capabilities, tasks and memory across devices. Xiaodu home hardware and Yinshi Technology's embodied intelligent devices have completed integration, the report said.

Baidu Dazi and Intel will continue to adapt more personal computers and workstations, and will add local Skills including long document processing, image-text-audio-video analysis and code development. Baidu Dazi will also connect more hardware devices through standardized APIs to expand an agent ecosystem that coordinates local and cloud capabilities, according to the report.
