Belgian startup Any's modular electric motorcycle LUV1 aims to replace car trunks

Belgian startup Any has unveiled the LUV1, a modular electric motorcycle with 120 liters of cargo space, securing 600+ preorders and raising €2.75 million.

The LUV1 can store up to 120 liters, enough for groceries, weekend bags, or suitcases, and reaches a top speed of 100 km/h (62 mph). It features two swappable batteries providing a range of up to 87 miles per charge. Customers can choose an open frame or various panel options for carrying pets, work equipment, or camping gear, with additional accessories like windshields, racks, and rain ponchos.

Starting at €7,000 (about $8,150), the LUV1 is priced below most cars and closer to high-end electric cargo bikes. It only requires an A1 license, making it accessible to a broader audience. The modular design was created under the direction of Lowie Vermeersch, former design director at Pininfarina, who is also an investor and creative director at Any.

The startup has raised €2.75 million ($3.2 million) in venture funding and is seeking €10 million ($11.65 million) or more in a Series A round, expected to close by the end of the year. Co-founder and CCO Erik de Winter told TechCrunch that the LUV1 is aimed at commuters, families, and outdoor enthusiasts, and that last-mile delivery players have shown interest. Any plans to develop a portfolio of vehicles, potentially including a three-wheeler, but first needs to ramp up production for initial deliveries.
