Belkin’s New Semi-Solid-State iPhone Batteries Cut Weight, Hands-On Review Says
Belkin launches two lighter semi-solid-state iPhone batteries: 10,000mAh USB-C and 5,000mAh MagSafe.
The 10,000mAh model weighs 220 grams, compared with 240 to 300 grams for older 10,000mAh batteries, according to 9to5Mac. It supports up to 60W charging and has a display that shows battery percentage. It is priced at $89.95 on Amazon. The review described the aluminum body as premium and said the shape makes the pack easy to carry in a pocket.
The 5,000mAh MagSafe version is aimed at users who want a thin wireless battery. 9to5Mac said it is very light and thin, though it lacks features such as a kickstand or smart display. The review also said the MagSafe pack will protrude slightly from the bottom of an iPhone Duo, an issue it said would affect most MagSafe accessories designed for that phone. It costs $69.99 on Amazon.
Both batteries are positioned as lighter alternatives to older designs. Belkin is offering the 10,000mAh model with wired charging and the 5,000mAh model with Qi2 magnetic charging.
