TechRadar reports that Cincinnati cannot be too careful with its quarterback given his injury history, and that the team also wants him to re-establish his connection with Ja'Marr Chase as quickly as possible. The report adds that coach Zac Taylor's position is precarious and patience is thin in Cincinnati.
Houston's opening game featured promise from quarterback C.J. Stroud. He went toe-to-toe with Josh Allen and nearly came out on top against the Buffalo Bills, finishing with two touchdowns and 274 passing yards, but also two fumbles. TechRadar says that if Stroud can cut out those moments and the Houston defense can show that last week's display was an aberration, DeMeco Ryans' team will go far. The Texans defense had been shredded in its opening NFL 2026 fixture.
The Bengals and Texans have met 14 times previously. Cincinnati has won five of those games, and Houston has won nine.
