Blink Video Doorbell Drops to AU$27.99 Ahead of Amazon Prime Big Deal Days

For buyers who still find other video doorbells expensive, the Blink model’s AU$27.99 price was described by the publication as a straightforward addition to a home.

Amazon is also offering a bundle with two Blink Mini 2K+ cameras for AU$48, or 74 percent off, which TechRadar described as suitable for a starter home security system. The publication said more Blink video doorbell models and cameras have been discounted as part of the same sale.

In TechRadar’s review of the Blink Video Doorbell, the device was called one of the easiest security systems to install. It has two mounting options, and setting it up in the Blink mobile app with the included Sync Module Core, which acts as the central system hub, takes three steps, according to the review. The tester found good image quality at 1440p resolution and 30 frames per second, a stable video connection, a wide 150-degree horizontal field of view, and battery life rated for up to two years using three AA lithium batteries.

The doorbell does not include an indoor chime. TechRadar said users can pair it with a Blink Mini camera sold separately, buy the bundle with two Blink Mini 2K+ cameras, or connect via the Alexa app on a phone to an Amazon Fire Stick or Amazon Echo Show. That setup allows users to see who is at the door on a TV or smart display, according to the publication.

TechRadar reported that many features are locked behind Blink subscription plans, including video recording, cloud video storage, video sharing, person and vehicle detection, and photo capture. The Blink Basic Plan applies to one device for AU$4.95 per month or AU$49.95 per year, while Blink Plus allows an unlimited number of Blink devices for AU$15 per month or AU$150 per year. TechRadar said the Basic plan is a reasonable starting point for most households, and it called that option more appealing because of the device’s 72 percent price drop.

The publication said the deal matches the Blink Video Doorbell System’s last all-time low price, which occurred during the last Prime Day sale in July. It also directed readers to Amazon for additional discounted Blink video doorbell models and cameras.
