Bluesky Adds iPad Beta Support and Profile Links in Latest Update

Bluesky's latest update adds beta iPad support and lets users place links to outside platforms at the top of their profiles, Engadget reports.

The iPad support is still in beta, and Engadget reported that the social network should start looking and performing better on Apple tablets as a result of the changes. Users can report bugs or other problems with the Bluesky iPad app through the Beta Features section of the Settings menu.

The second change is aimed at self-promotion. Bluesky users can now put links to external platforms at the top of their profiles. According to Engadget, the company framed the addition as a way for creators to get better support from their Bluesky audiences by connecting their profiles to crowdfunding platforms such as Patreon or Ko-fi, or to more of their content on a website or newsletter. Engadget reported that the feature might also cut down on some of the “link in bio” language common in social media posts.

The Edit Profile menu now includes a Links section where users can add those external sites. The update combines the iPad beta and profile links as part of Bluesky’s latest feature rollout.
