Boston Blue Season 2 Set for CBS Premiere With Paramount+ and Live-TV Streaming Options

Boston Blue season 2 is set to premiere Oct. 9 on CBS, with Paramount+ and live-TV services offering streaming access.

TechRadar reports that the premiere should provide answers to that cliffhanger, while Danny considers his future and a possible promotion. Fans of the original series can expect Will Estes to return as Danny’s younger brother Jamie and Len Cariou to appear in the premiere as their grandfather Henry. The cast also includes Maggie Lawson as Sarah Silver, Marcus Scribner as Jonah Silver, Mika Amonsen as Sean Reagan, Gloria Reuben as Mae Silver, Ernie Hudson as Reverend Edwin Peters, and Marisa Ramirez as Maria Baez.

In the United States, Boston Blue season 2 premieres on CBS on Friday, Oct. 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, with new episodes following weekly in the same slot, according to TechRadar. Viewers with the channel on cable can watch on linear TV or on demand on the CBS website. Cord-cutters can watch on Paramount+ Premium at $13.99 per month live alongside the broadcast, or through Fubo at $79.99 per month. Paramount+ Essential subscribers at $8.99 per month can catch episodes the following day. TechRadar notes that new Paramount+ subscribers may receive a seven-day free trial depending on region, and that Fubo, YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV all carry CBS and offer free trial periods for U.S. viewers. A 30-day Walmart+ trial costs $1 and includes the Essential tier as a member bonus.

Internationally, season 2 will stream on Paramount Plus in the UK, Canada, Australia and beyond, TechRadar reports, with release dates varying. Episodes begin Oct. 10 in Australia, Oct. 16 in Canada and Oct. 24 in the UK. A Paramount Plus subscription starts at AU$7.99 in Australia, CA$7.99 in Canada, or £5.99 in the UK.

For viewers traveling outside their home region, TechRadar says regional restrictions may prevent access to their usual streaming services. It recommends using a VPN, naming NordVPN as its top choice and saying it can unlock Paramount Plus and allow streaming from anywhere. TechRadar also lists a current promotion of 75% off and three months extra free. The publication states that it tests and reviews VPN services in the context of legal recreational uses, such as accessing a service from another country subject to that service’s terms and conditions, or protecting online security and privacy while abroad; it does not support or condone illegal or malicious use of VPN services or pirated paid content.

The show is a spin-off of the long-running police procedural Blue Bloods. It follows Danny Reagan, one of the original show’s main characters, who relocates from the NYPD to the Boston Police Department after his son Sean, also of the BPD, is injured in a suspicious fire.
