Boston Scientific cyberattack disrupts operations, shares fall

Boston Scientific disclosed a cyberattack this week that disrupted its systems and shipments; shares fell 3.5% in premarket trading.

The attack has disrupted Boston Scientific's access to company information systems and applications, including shipments services, the company said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. “While the company is working diligently to restore affected functions and systems access, the timeline for a full restoration is not yet known,” the filing said.

Shares were down 3.5% in premarket trading on Wednesday. The maker of pacemakers and stents has seen its stock nearly cut in half already this year, after issuing a weak profit forecast in the first quarter.
