Canon Pixma G3270 MegaTank drops to $144 at Amazon, TechRadar's top budget cartridge-free printer
Canon's Pixma G3270 MegaTank all-in-one is $144 at Amazon, down from $248.99, according to TechRadar.
The G3270 uses refillable ink tanks and comes with enough ink in the box for up to 6,000 black pages and 7,700 color pages, TechRadar reported. It can print, copy and scan wirelessly, prints at up to 11 pages per minute in black, and has a 100-sheet rear paper tray, a 1.35-inch screen, and Wi-Fi and USB connections. It does not have an automatic document feeder, and duplex printing is manual only.
TechRadar's senior printer editor gave the G3270 four stars and described it as an inexpensive entry-level MegaTank suitable for home offices, with very low running costs and plenty of ink included. In that review, text output was found to be dark and durable, while photos on coated paper looked flat next to dedicated photo printers, which TechRadar said is expected for this class of device. For general family print-outs, TechRadar said the photo limitation would not be a deal-breaker at the discounted price.
TechRadar said the printer does everything an affordable cartridge-free printer needs to do, including print, scan and copy functions. It also noted that at $144, the price is $104.99 off the $248.99 list price, though it is not the lowest price the publication has seen. TechRadar previously recorded the G3270 at $130 in October 2024. The closest competitor in performance and specifications, according to TechRadar, is the Epson EcoTank ET-2410, priced at $180 at Amazon.
TechRadar's buying guidance said shoppers should consider the Canon Pixma MegaTank G3270 if they print often enough that ink costs add up and if they mostly print documents or general photographs. It advised skipping it if they print a lot of publication-ready photos, or need automatic duplex printing or a document feeder for running a business.
Editor's Summary
TechRadar reported that the Canon Pixma G3270 MegaTank is discounted to $144 at Amazon, a 42% reduction from its $248.99 list price and a strong price for an ink-tank printer with a large bundled ink supply. The all-in-one offers wireless print, copy and scan, but lacks an automatic document feeder and automatic duplexing, and its photo output is not aimed at publication-quality work. TechRadar still considers it a top budget cartridge-free option for regular document and family printing.
