CBS Sets Oct. 6 Premieres for NCIS Season 24 and NCIS: New York
CBS will premiere NCIS season 24 and the new spin-off NCIS: New York on Oct. 6, with the original at 8 p.m. ET/PT and the spin-off at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The guides detail cast changes, US streaming options and availability in Canada, Australia and the UK.
Season 24 of NCIS brings several cast changes. Rocky Carroll's Director Leon Vance exits, leaving a leadership gap at the agency. Michael Weatherly returns as Tony DiNozzo, who is opening a new office for his private security firm. Sean Murray, who plays Timothy McGee, marks his 500th appearance on the show this season, and McGee's son causes trouble. The cast also includes Wilmer Valderrama as Nick Torres, Katrina Law as Jessica Knight, Brian Dietzen as Dr. Jimmy Palmer, Diona Reasonover as Kasie Hines and Gary Cole as Alden Parker.
NCIS: New York stars LL Cool J as Senior Special Agent Sam Hanna, who moves back to his hometown of New York to take over a new team. He works alongside Special Agent Nick Schaeffer, played by Scott Caan, who is described as a wildcard. The spin-off was created by Byron Balasco and R. Scott Gemmill. Its cast includes Jennifer Beals as Robyn Wells, Jacqueline Byers as Addison 'Addy' Ross, Shane Harper as Wyatt Sellers and Devin Druid as Sean Sullivan. The team protects the port and investigates naval and national security threats. The show runs concurrently with the main NCIS timeline.
In the United States, viewers can watch both shows for free with a TV antenna or cable package that carries CBS. Cord-cutters can use free trials from Fubo, YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV, all of which feature CBS, though payment is required after the trial. A Walmart+ 30-day trial costs $1 and includes a Paramount+ Essential or Peacock Premium package; selecting Paramount+ allows viewing for $1. Paramount+ Premium costs $13.99 per month and streams live alongside the CBS broadcast, while the Essential tier costs $8.99 per month and offers episodes the following day. Fubo streaming costs $79.99 per month. New episodes follow in the same weekly slots.
In Canada, there is no broadcast or streaming release in place for NCIS season 24. Past seasons have gone out on Paramount+ in Canada, usually with a few months' delay, and subscriptions start from CA$7.99 a month. NCIS: New York season 1 will air on Global TV in Canada with episodes released in the same pattern as the US. For cord-cutters, Stack TV carries Global TV and is available via Prime Video, Fubo and other services. The spin-off will also go out on Paramount+ in Canada from October 13. In Australia, both shows are available via Paramount+ from October 7.
In the UK, neither NCIS season 24 nor NCIS: New York season 1 will air or stream. All 23 previous seasons of NCIS are available on Disney+, and TechRadar says it expects season 24 to join them in a few months. Disney+ prices start from £6.99, with a price increase starting October 14. TechRadar says it would expect NCIS: New York to air on Disney+ and Paramount+ in the UK in a few months, like previous spin-offs.
TechRadar recommends NordVPN for US viewers who are abroad and want to access their usual streaming services. It says a VPN can make a device appear as if it is back in the user's home country, and it lists up to 75% off, three extra months free and the ability to unlock Paramount Plus. TechRadar states that it tests and reviews VPN services for legal recreational uses, such as accessing a service from another country subject to that service's terms and conditions, and protecting online security and privacy abroad. It says it does not support or condone illegal or malicious use of VPN services.
