CBTS launches Forge Agents to build custom AI agents in days

Governance of AI in these organizations tends to be scattered. A June report from Forrester Research Inc. cited by CBTS found that responsibility for AI governance is split across seven or more roles, with no single function owning more than 28%. The report also found that 54% of enterprise AI decision-makers said their technology organization is leading AI efforts.

To create an agent, users begin with an ordinary-language description of the job. Forge Agents assembles the agent from a library of 187 prebuilt artifacts and 34 cross-industry blueprints, which CBTS says can bring agents into production in days. Clients can start with a single use case, pay per consumption, and expand once a workflow succeeds. The platform works with models and cloud tenancies that clients already pay for, spanning Anthropic PBC, Google LLC, Amazon Web Services Inc. and Cisco Systems Inc., or on hardware in a client's own data center. Nothing needs to be ripped out to make room.

Security features include access controls, intake gates, auditable decision trails and explainable outputs. Sensitive workloads can remain within a client's own tenancy, backed by CBTS managed hosting and network security, with encryption key management and data lineage governance staying on the buyer's side. Model choice is left open across proprietary, third-party and open-source systems, so buyers can choose based on cost or data residency. CBTS describes this as board-level defensibility.

Mark Giles, CBTS's chief technology officer, said midmarket organizations need a single partner capable of delivering and managing the entire agent stack. Most already own capable platforms, he said, but they lack “the engineering to run agents securely, connect data to workflows, and prove ROI.”

CBTS has been using the software internally. Agents are deployed across customer experience, finance, operations and workforce functions, with more than 2,300 employees working alongside them. Security policy, metered spend and usage analytics sit in one view that tracks down to individual users, skills and tokens. CBTS says payback on the internal rollout came within three months.

Monitoring, accuracy reporting and a human-in-the-loop supervisor layer are available as managed services after an agent goes live. Forge Agents is available now. The platform extends Forge AI, the advisory and infrastructure practice CBTS introduced in March.
