Chery Vice President and Intelligentization Center Head Xie Baojun Suspected to Have Left
Leiphone's New Auto reported that Chery Automobile Vice President and Intelligentization Center head Xie Baojun is suspected to have left, with his internal Feishu status shown as suspended. Chery did not respond to a request for comment by publication time. Xie joined Chery in October 2024 and had coordinated its intelligent cockpit, assisted driving and digital architecture businesses.
Xie joined Chery in October 2024 and initially worked at the automaker's subsidiary Dazhuo Intelligent, where he was mainly responsible for intelligent driving-related research and development. In May 2025, Chery integrated Xiongshi Technology, Dazhuo Intelligent and related operations of its R&D General Institute to establish the Chery Intelligentization Center. Xie became the center's de facto operations head, coordinating intelligent cockpit, intelligent assisted driving, digital architecture and other intelligentization businesses.
After that, Chery moved to unify its Falcon Smart Driving technology solutions, converge partners and pursue full-stack self-development. At its 2026 AI Night event, the company launched the Falcon 500, 700 and 900 smart driving product series, as well as AI capabilities including Lingxi Smart Cockpit and Xiaoqi Tongxue. Xie appeared on multiple occasions to present those developments on Chery's behalf.
Before joining Chery, Xie had a long career in the Geely system. Around 2010, he joined Volvo Cars, where he was responsible for software, electronics, autonomous driving, vehicle electrical and electronic architecture and intelligent connectivity R&D. He served as senior director of software and electronics at Volvo's R&D center and senior director of Volvo Cars Asia Pacific R&D. He later joined Zeekr as vice president of Zeekr Intelligent Technology and head of its Software and Electronics Center, with core responsibility for electronic and electrical architecture and related hardware and software platforms. After leaving Zeekr in October 2024, he moved to Chery's Dazhuo Intelligent.
Chery has not publicly confirmed the reported departure. Leiphone's New Auto said it sought comment from the company but had not received a response by publication.
