CloudGear brings all major cloud gaming platforms into one tvOS app
CloudGear is a new indie app that unifies GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Streaming, Amazon Luna, and Boosteroid into a single interface for Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad, with support for up to 5K resolution and 120FPS streaming.
Beyond the core streaming features, CloudGear includes several quality-of-life options. It supports controller vibration, and if your controller lacks that feature, the app can use your iPhone's Taptic Engine instead. There is also a handoff feature that lets you start a game on your iPhone or iPad and continue it on your Apple TV, so you don't have to do all the searching on the TV. On iPhone and iPad, the app offers home screen widgets, allowing you to bookmark games and launch them quickly without extra steps. Additionally, CloudGear supports AR glasses plugged into your iPhone, such as XREAL glasses, for playing on a large virtual display.
According to 9to5Mac, CloudGear is available for free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad running iOS 17.6 and later, as well as Apple TV models running tvOS 18.6 and later. For the full feature set, users can subscribe for $1.99 per month, $14.99 per year, or $39.99 for a lifetime purchase. A 7-day free trial is available for subscriptions.
