CNET Group Launches Free TechPulse App Combining Six Tech Publications

CNET Group launches TechPulse, an app combining six tech publications in one algorithm-free feed with no subscription.

According to ZDNet, TechPulse can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. After downloading it, users can open the publication filters for the unified feed and select ZDNET. They can leave the other publications selected for the full mix or choose only ZDNET to see its coverage. Articles and videos from the selected publications appear in the feed.

ZDNet reported that the app is designed for readers who want breaking technology news written by human journalists. Its feed is algorithm-free, and readers decide which publications appear. TechPulse brings technology news, videos, expert reviews and hands-on lab testing into one place, with videos integrated directly.

The app does not require a subscription to read articles or watch videos, according to ZDNet. In the report, an editor in chief said visiting several homepages multiple times a day gets tedious but that they did not want an algorithmic feed deciding what might interest them each time they catch up. The editor said they wanted the full flow of content as it happens and planned to keep ZDNET and the other publications in their feed.
