Cole Palmer Temporarily Banned on Twitch After Streaming EA Sports FC 27 Early

Cole Palmer was temporarily banned on Twitch after livestreaming EA Sports FC 27 before an agreed embargo. He joked on Instagram asking to be unbanned, and his account was later reinstated.

TechRadar reported, citing ESPN, that Palmer was expected to wait until an official EA Sports showcase later that evening before showing the game publicly. An EA representative appeared in the stream’s chat to remind him of that arrangement. The stream then ended, and Palmer’s Twitch account page was updated to show it had been suspended.

Palmer responded on Instagram with his usual light-hearted tone. “I was only giving the people what they wanted,” he wrote, followed by a simple request: “unban me pls.”

Any chance of leniency from EA may not have been helped by what Palmer said during the untimely stream. He complained about his rating in EA Sports FC 27, which lists him at 85 out of 99, down from 87 in the previous edition. “I need a word with EA. They took two ratings off me,” Palmer said during the stream.

He did acknowledge that he had spent much of last year out with various injuries, joking that it had effectively left him with “one leg for 10 months last season.” He also saw that long-time friend and Chelsea teammate Morgan Rodgers had been given a pace score of 76, while Palmer’s own pace rating is listed at 75.

Palmer’s Twitch account has since been reinstated, and he has already returned to streaming. EA Sports FC 27 is officially scheduled to launch on September 25, with early access beginning September 18 for players who pre-ordered the Ultimate and Ultimate Plus editions.
