Como Host Manchester United in Champions League as Carrick Faces Pressure
Como host Man Utd in the Champions League on Oct. 21; TechRadar details free and paid streams in several markets.
In the Republic of Ireland, TechRadar reported that the game is being shown free on Virgin Media Play, with coverage beginning at 5pm on Virgin Media Two. In the United States, it is on Paramount+, which starts at $8.99 a month or $89.99 a year; TechRadar said a Walmart Plus 30-day trial for $1 can provide virtual access. In the UK, the match is on TNT Sports 2, available through Sky, Virgin Media or EE TV packages, or through an HBO Max plan that includes TNT Sports, with prices starting at £25.99 a month on a one-year commitment. In Australia, Stan Sport is showing the game and all 189 Champions League matches of the season for AU$20 a month on top of a Stan subscription starting at AU$9.99 a month. In Canada, DAZN has the match and all 189 fixtures, starting at CA$24.99 a month for a plan that also includes EFL, Carabao Cup, Bundesliga and NFL coverage.
Fabregas, the former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder, has had an on-off association with Como since 2022, taking interim charge while the club were in Serie B before returning after their promotion to the top flight in 2024. Como finished fourth in Serie A last term and sit fifth this term after beating Napoli and Fiorentina. Anastasios Douvikas has scored in both Champions League games, a 4-1 win against RB Leipzig and a 3-2 defeat by Feyenoord, while former Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has impressed.
Carrick has a defensive headache, TechRadar reported: Leny Yoro is suspended and Ayden Heaven, Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez are all injury doubts. Martinez apologized for a scathing attack on club suits after the 2-0 Champions League defeat by Atletico Madrid and went off at half-time of the weekend draw with Leeds, which extended United’s winless run to six games in all competitions. Carrick will look to Bryan Mbeumo and captain Bruno Fernandes, who have seven goals between them in all competitions this season, for inspiration and a much-needed win.
The game is the first in history between the sides, given Como’s limited history at European football’s top table. TechRadar also said viewers traveling outside their home country can use a VPN to unlock their usual streams, and it recommended NordVPN, citing up to 75% off. The publication reviews VPN services for legal recreational uses, such as accessing a service from abroad.
