CoreWeave to Host Inaugural Fully Connected Event as theCUBE Covers AI Cloud Push
CoreWeave's inaugural Fully Connected event runs Sept. 30-Oct. 1 in San Francisco, with theCUBE covering AI cloud, agent tooling and Nvidia work.
The event follows two announcements over the past five months. In May, CoreWeave launched an offering that gives enterprises the ability to deploy AI agents that can learn and improve themselves autonomously using real-world data. This month, the company said it would introduce a Physical AI Field Engineering service designed to bridge the gap between industrial domain expertise and applied machine learning. Industry analysts will be looking for further evidence of CoreWeave’s impact on the AI conversation.
“Some interesting trends have developed that I think are going to make it very interesting at this event,” said theCUBE Research’s John Furrier in an interview ahead of the conference. “One is a new term that has been kicked around in industry circles called ‘asset light,’ which means that you don’t have to spend billions and billions of dollars to get AI intelligence. That’s driving a lot of people to say, hey, I’ll just go to CoreWeave.”
CoreWeave was founded in 2017 under a different name and made a pivot in 2019 from cryptocurrency mining to renting surplus, discounted GPU power. Since then, it has built cloud infrastructure for AI inference and training to support model and agent deployment.
The company’s launch of autonomous improvement capabilities for AI agents was designed to address issues it found within its own infrastructure. The process of building and testing agents before they could reach real users had become slow and expensive. CoreWeave said its autonomous improvement capabilities could reduce costs by over 40% and accelerate training by about 1.4 times with no loss in quality, according to the report.
“They’re looking for the place to develop agents and apps and to do their training or inference at the speed, at the scale and the rate that they need to get out into the market fast,” CoreWeave Chief Marketing Officer Jean English told theCUBE. “It’s the performance. They cannot be slowed down, and they cannot have latency, and they cannot have any gaps in terms of how they think about observability. They need a true partnership to make that happen and someone that’s going to work side-by-side with them.”
Speakers at the upcoming conference include a high-ranking executive from Nvidia Corp., reflecting the close partnership CoreWeave has forged with the AI computing giant. In early June, CoreWeave announced that it had completed what was described as the industry’s first bring-up and validation of Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 on CoreWeave Cloud. The release highlighted deeper systems work behind the deployment, including liquid cooling, rack control, networking and secure multi-tenant operations.
In August, CoreWeave indicated that its revenue backlog was approximately $104 billion as of June 30. That number did not include more than $25 billion in net new customer commitments added in early third quarter.
“There is so much demand in the market right now for the AI infrastructure that we provide,” English said. “We see this through clients coming to us who have tried something else and they didn’t get the reliability they needed. It’s bringing things up, bringing it up and validating it first to market as we did with Vera Rubin. All of that is an ecosystem that we serve and the ability for us to do that with the partnership that’s required is what we really see as a big differentiator.”
TheCUBE will cover CoreWeave Fully Connected with on-site reporting and exclusive interviews, and will offer on-demand content after the event.
