Creality cuts SparkX i7 Color Combo to $349/£319 in Halloween sale
Creality’s SparkX i7 Color Combo is down to $349/£319 in a Halloween sale, lowering the entry cost for four-color 3D printing.
The Color Combo bundles the SparkX i7 printer with Creality’s CFS Lite four-spool system. The i7 is an open-frame printer with a 260 x 260 x 255mm build volume, automatic bed leveling and a 720p camera with LED lighting and a privacy shield. TechRadar described the multi-color setup as low-maintenance and said the bundle is aimed at beginners and hobbyists who want to print in up to four colors without a complicated setup. The US discount is $50 off the $399 list price, or about 13%, while the UK price is £80 off the £399 list price.
TechRadar said it had not tested the newest model, but its sister site Tom’s Hardware scored it 4.5 stars and gave it an Editor’s Choice award. The review praised its fast and quiet printing, friendly interface and reliable automatic bed leveling, and was especially impressed by the CFS Lite, which it called adaptable and refreshingly low maintenance. The review’s complaints were minor: setup asks users to accept a lengthy privacy policy, and the CFS Lite does not retract filament back onto its spools, which can get a little messy.
TechRadar said the four-color bundle costs just $70 more than the single-color i7, making it the better buy for most people. It called the discount solid rather than dramatic on a printer it already rates highly. TechRadar recommended the bundle for buyers who want an affordable way into four-color 3D printing, value quiet operation and easy setup, or want to monitor prints remotely through the built-in camera. It said buyers should skip it if they need an enclosed printer for materials such as ABS, would rather avoid tidying up loose filament from the CFS Lite, or want a printer with more than four colors.
