CRKD unveils three Gibson guitar controllers for Stage Tour's Dec. 10 release

CRKD has announced three Gibson guitar controllers for the rhythm game Stage Tour, launching December 10 with pre-orders now open.

The Stage Tour Pro Guitar Collection includes the Gibson Les Paul Oxblood Edition, modeled after the iconic guitar of the same name; the SG Midnight Blue Edition, based on an abandoned PS2-era controller concept for Guitar Hero II; and the 8K Gibson Explorer: 20th Anniversary Edition, inspired by the classic X-Plorer Controller from 2007. The guitars feature Hall effect click strum bars, mechanical frets, LED neck lighting, and ultra-low latency, with polling rates of 500Hz wireless and 1,000Hz wired for the Les Paul and SG. The Explorer boasts an 8,000Hz polling rate both wired and wireless.

Made in collaboration with RedOctane, the controllers share a streamlined button layout with the official Stage Tour Kramer Wireless Guitar Controller, which retails for $110 across all platforms. An official drum kit ($200) and wireless microphone ($30) are also available, though the drum hardware is not compatible with Switch 2 at launch.

Pricing varies by model: the Les Paul costs $130 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC, or $120 for Android, PC and Switch. The SG is an officially licensed PlayStation product, compatible with PS4, PS5 and PC, for $130. The Explorer, compatible with PC, Android and Switch, also costs $130. The Explorer ships in mid-January, while the other two models ship on Stage Tour's release day in December.

Stage Tour supports lead guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keyboard and PC gamepads, with four difficulty settings plus an additional Expert Plus mode for drums. It features up to four-player local play, solo play, online leaderboards, and cross-platform online co-op. The release date was announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live, alongside 20 new songs, bringing the confirmed total to 45 tracks from an eventual 90+ at launch.
