Cyberpunk 2077's 2.5 Update Adds Cross-Platform Mods and Edgerunners 2 Content
Cyberpunk 2077's 2.5 update adds cross-platform mods, Edgerunners content and dual-wielding on October 22.
The update, detailed in full patch notes, introduces mod support powered by mod.io. Players can browse and install a selection of player-created mods directly from the in-game menu on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. CD Projekt Red said more mods will become available over time, according to the report. The notes do not say which mods will be available at first.
The Edgerunners-specific content includes a new side quest, a gear set based on the character Weak Kingsley and a new radio station that plays Cyberpunk: Edgerunners music. The update also adds a Double Trouble perk option that allows dual-wielding of pistols and revolvers, plus a Richard Night-guided tour of the city side quest.
Other changes include grouped saves sorted by playthrough, DLSS 4.5 support and glasses-free 3D effects. Console players also get an FOV slider to adjust how much of the game world they can see.
The update launches on October 22 on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S. According to CD Projekt Red's patch notes, it is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store in the "days to follow." The Verge noted that the game is nearly six years past its initially troubled launch and still lacks a multiplayer mode.
