DAPA completes development of armored medical evacuation vehicle
South Korea's defense procurement agency has completed development of an armored medical evacuation vehicle to safely transport wounded troops from the front lines.
The armored vehicle was specially designed to help safely escort wounded soldiers from the front lines to hospitals while enabling them to receive remote medical support on the way, according to the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA). Ambulances currently in use by the military have difficulty in providing emergency transport near combat units due to their low mobility and insufficient protection gears.
DAPA plans to prepare for mass production of the medical evacuation vehicle to ensure timely delivery to the Army.
