‘Dark Matter’ season 2 premieres on Apple TV

Apple TV releases the first episode of ‘Dark Matter’ season 2, a 10-episode sci-fi thriller starring Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly and Alice Braga.

The new season runs for 10 episodes and stars Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly and Alice Braga. The story follows a physicist in Chicago who is abducted and wakes up in an alternate version of his life.

The series is based on Blake Crouch’s 2016 novel of the same name and received one Emmy nomination last year for Outstanding Title Design. The show also recently hosted a panel at San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H, looking back at its first season and previewing what lies ahead.

According to Apple TV, season two picks up with the Dessens as they settle into a quiet life in a world that finally seems safe, until the unimaginable forces them to run once again. As Jason’s obsession with the Box deepens, Daniela’s growing paranoia pushes her to the brink, and their son Charlie starves for stability as their family is threatened. Elsewhere, Amanda and Ryan join forces in a desperate attempt to find their way home, while Blair is determined to stop Leighton as he relentlessly chases his vision of a perfect world.

A trailer for the new season has also been released. Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month or as part of the Apple One bundle, featuring shows such as Ted Lasso, Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking and Silo.
