Daylight Saving Starts This Weekend: Eight Sleep and Cooling Deals to Help Adjust

Daylight saving time begins this weekend in parts of Australia, where clocks move one hour ahead. A TechRadar report highlights eight Amazon Prime Big Deal Days discounts on sleep masks, earbuds, white-noise machines, smart bulbs and fans meant to ease the transition.

TechRadar selected the products to help make the transition easier and potentially improve sleep. The list covers sleep tech and related devices such as sunrise alarm clocks, eye masks, earplugs and other bedroom items.

For blocking morning light without blackout curtains, TechRadar points to the Manta Pro Sleep Mask. It is described as a more expensive option than basic masks, but it blocks all light, uses breathable materials, has an adjustable fit and is optimized for side sleeping.

The Renpho Eyeris is an eye massager rather than a sleep mask. It is designed to relieve eye strain, dry eyes, eye puffiness, sinus pressure and headaches. It has Bluetooth connectivity for music through built-in speakers and folds for storage, but at 662g it is relatively bulky and heavy, so TechRadar says it may be better for quick naps than all-night sleep.

TechRadar described the Oura Ring 4 as nearly the perfect fitness tracker, praising its design, ease of use, long-lasting battery and detailed health information. The device requires a subscription, and prices vary by color and size, though most are discounted.

The Soundcore sleep earbuds use active noise cancellation to block snoring, pets, appliance hum and outside traffic. Their charging case also detects snoring sounds to mask them further. The design is optimized for side sleepers. The previous-generation A20 is cheaper at AU$199.99, but it relies on basic passive noise isolation and has a longer 14-hour battery life compared with the A30's 9 hours with ANC.

For people who do not want earbuds in bed, the Dreamegg white noise machine combines ambient sound, an alarm clock and a night light. The alarm has six tones with adjustable volume, and the night light is bright enough to guide someone in the dark but soft enough not to wake other people.

Govee smart bulbs are presented as a way to avoid harsh overhead lights and create a cozy mood in bedrooms and living rooms. They can be controlled remotely through a smart home hub or a smartphone and integrated with Alexa or Google Home for automations. TechRadar also points readers to Amazon's deals on lamps.

The Philips tower fan is rated at 39-46db depending on speed, compared with 65db from most pedestal fans. It has a narrow 23.8cm frame and stands 109.5cm tall, making it suited to smaller spaces.

The Shark dual-mode oscillating fan can be used as a vertical tower or rotated 180º and positioned horizontally to cover a wider area. It runs at about 40db at its quietest, while more powerful modes reach up to 53db, which TechRadar says is still quieter than most conventional pedestal fans.
