Dell's Top Tech Event cuts laptop prices by up to $500, with five picks from $499
Dell's Top Tech Event runs through Oct. 12 with laptop discounts up to $500. TechRadar highlights five picks from $499, including the Dell 15, Dell 16, Dell 14 Plus, Dell 16S, and XPS 13.
The lowest-priced pick is the Dell 15 Laptop at $499, down from $699. TechRadar describes it as an everyday option for basic needs: an Intel Core 3 100U processor, 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. The publication says the Core 3 chipset and 8GB memory are suited to browser-based tasks, while the 512GB SSD provides decent storage space. It is not positioned as a high-performance machine, but TechRadar considers it a strong choice for users who do not want to spend too much.
For heavier workloads, TechRadar recommends the Dell 16 Laptop at $949, reduced from $1,149. This configuration uses an AMD Ryzen 7 250 processor, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. According to the report, it is a more performance-oriented model with solid build quality, and the Ryzen 7 chipset and 16GB of memory should handle demanding applications. TechRadar says this is the model its writer would choose as a work laptop.
The Dell 14 Plus is another highlighted model. It has an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V processor, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. TechRadar calls it one of its favorite Dell laptops from the past few years because of its balance of price, performance and value. The design is not as plush as the XPS line, but the report says it is still well built and lightweight, with enough performance for a wide range of tasks.
TechRadar also lists the Dell 16S, a newer premium model positioned for both professional and casual use. The 16-inch machine is larger than some of Dell's smaller laptops, which the report says is helpful for users who need more screen space. Its configuration includes an AMD Ryzen AI 5 430 processor, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. TechRadar expects it to handle heavy workloads and demanding applications.
The fifth selection is the latest Dell XPS 13. TechRadar notes that this model has been subject to recent price hikes and does not currently have an upfront price cut. Even so, the publication calls it surprisingly affordable and says students and teachers can still receive a $100 discount. The XPS 13 configuration listed by TechRadar includes an Intel Core 5 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. It is described as a premium laptop with a great display and strong performance despite its small 13-inch form factor.
The sale also includes 2x back in Dell's rewards program, according to TechRadar. The publication says the Top Tech Event will run through Oct. 12.
