Developer Releases Free WhatsApp MCP Server and Web UI for AI Agents
Chat-Man is a free WhatsApp MCP server and web UI that lets AI agents read, search, extract and send WhatsApp messages.
Fabian wrote that he built Chat-Man because he wanted a cheap way to give his agents access to WhatsApp without integrating a WhatsApp library separately in every project. According to the post, the MCP server lets users connect WhatsApp to an agent and programmatically read, search, extract and send messages. A web UI is included for people who do not work with code. The system can also receive webhooks for incoming messages in starred conversations.
With the MCP server, the post says, users can read WhatsApp messages and turn them into CRM records, summarize conversations or groups, extract structured information from messages, find messages, participants or other WhatsApp data, send messages, and manage group memberships. Fabian added that users must follow data protection regulations.
The web UI offers group management and outreach tools. According to the post, users can edit group details, see who joined or left, see who is most active, export group members, match members against a CSV such as one from a CRM, send bulk messages to members, bulk kick members, and create invite links. For individual contacts, users can send messages directly from the UI.
Fabian said he needed WhatsApp access for several projects, including hermo.ai and florahaus.co.uk, and did not want to pay for a WhatsApp integration for each project. He asked for feedback, especially from people building agents that need access to WhatsApp. The project is available at https://chat-man.net.
