Developer Releases Markdown and Raw HTML Blogging Platform, Citing 99 PageSpeed Score

A developer who spent about two years building a blogging platform has announced it on Hacker News, saying a demo blog written in Markdown and raw HTML scores 99 to 100 on Google PageSpeed Insights.

The demonstration site, bloffy.bloffy.blog/en, renders posts written in Markdown and raw HTML. The author linked a PageSpeed Insights analysis of the sample page and said the result came "after a lot of effort." The sample blog's SEO score is low, the author said, because the demo is deliberately blocked from search engine indexing with a noindex tag.

The author described the project as a response to frustrations with blogging services already in use. The problems listed included JavaScript chunks the author considered unnecessary, advertising that a platform inserts into a user's blog rather than the blogger's own ads, the inability to manage multiple blogs, editors that make semantic markup hard to write, limited customization options, and difficulty placing one's own advertising.

"I thought a blog had to be really lightweight," the author wrote, adding that control over one's own blog was the second requirement behind the build.

The announcement did not give pricing, hosting arrangements, data-export options or a date for wider availability beyond the demo. It also did not name the blogging services the author had previously used, referring to them only as platforms the author had run blogs on. The post closed with an invitation for criticism, feedback and interest from Hacker News readers.

Reaction on the site was limited at the time of writing. According to the Hacker News listing, the submission had 7 points and no comments, so no user feedback, bug reports or challenges to the performance claims had been posted.
