Didi ranks 31st on 2026 China Top 500 Private Enterprises as autonomous driving unit adds honors

At the 2026 Private Economy Innovation Development Conference held in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, the federation also released the Top 500 Private Enterprises in R&D Investment. Didi ranked 25th on that list. Its autonomous driving practice was selected for the first time as a 2026 Private Enterprise New Quality Productive Forces Case, Leiphone reported.

The Beijing Federation of Industry and Commerce released its 2026 Beijing Top 100 Private Enterprises list on Sept. 17. Didi ranked 7th, and it ranked 9th on the 2026 Beijing Top 100 Private Enterprises in Technological Innovation. Didi Autonomous Driving appeared for the first time on the 2026 Beijing Private Enterprises Future Industry Pioneer List, according to Leiphone and Qbit.

Qbit reported that the two honors for Didi Autonomous Driving were its first selection as a 2026 Private Enterprise New Quality Productive Forces Case and its first appearance on the Beijing future industry pioneer list. The Beijing list, organized by the Beijing Federation of Industry and Commerce, is described by Qbit as an authoritative ranking reflecting the vitality of the capital's private economy. This year it added the Future Industry Pioneer List for frontier fields including future information and future manufacturing. Didi Autonomous Driving, described as an L4 autonomous driving representative, entered the list for the first time.

Didi Autonomous Driving has developed over 10 years and built an integrated "AI-hardware-scenario" capability, according to the reports. It has provided shuttle services for events including the World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference and the 15th National Games, and has accumulated more than 2,200 days of safe operation. With automaker partners, it is developing dedicated Robotaxi models. A new-generation model developed with GAC Aion has upgraded autonomous driving performance and cabin experience, has global adaptability, and has begun unmanned passenger service in demonstration application areas. The new-generation Robotaxi model is called R2.

Leiphone reported that Didi has upgraded its Driver Guarantee Plan 2.0 to cover drivers' income, rights, and development needs. Since August, the first three Didi driver service authorized flagship stores opened in Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. The platform has upgraded a three-tier offline driver service store system and held offline welfare station activities. Through the Didi Care public welfare assistance project, it has provided aid and care to drivers who suffer major illness, accidents, or disasters. So far, the project has helped more than 6,000 driver families.

On the passenger side, Didi has launched Select Express and 6-seat Express in some cities this year and expanded the service scope of Didi Station Bus and online bus services. On Sept. 20, the Didi Station Bus "Xunmeng" vehicle was launched in Jiujiang, Jiangxi, Leiphone reported.

Didi's social responsibility programs include the Didi Education Aid Plan, which supports the education of children in ride-hailing workers' families and has served more than 50,000 driver families over nine consecutive years. The Didi Public Welfare Rescue project has taken part in natural disaster relief operations. As of June 2026, it had participated in 147 rescue operations.

The federation's rankings were based on its 28th survey of large-scale private enterprises. A total of 6,350 companies with 2025 revenue above 1 billion yuan participated. The top 500 private enterprises reported total revenue of 44.93 trillion yuan, an average of 89.851 billion yuan per company, up 4.35 percent from the previous year, Leiphone reported.
