DigiCert’s World Quantum Readiness Day 2026: Only 7% Have Deployed Quantum-Safe Cryptography
DigiCert’s World Quantum Readiness Day on Sept. 17 will tackle a wide gap: only 7% of firms have deployed quantum-safe cryptography.
The survey found that 87% of organizations were planning, testing or implementing post-quantum cryptography initiatives, while only 7% had deployed quantum-safe or hybrid cryptography across most of their digital certificates. The findings illustrate the challenge enterprises face in protecting critical systems as cryptographic algorithms may become obsolete.
The event’s theme, “From Blueprint to Build,” underscores a shift from quantum awareness to implementation. Participants will discuss inventorying cryptographic assets, prioritizing migration, evaluating quantum-safe algorithms and preparing for the quantum era, according to the report.
With rapid enterprise adoption of AI, DigiCert has also been developing an AI Trust architecture to secure AI systems and outputs. theCUBE Research analysts cited by SiliconANGLE put the development in context. Krista Case said post-quantum migration will test enterprise resilience as much as cryptographic strength, and that crypto-agility must be built before quantum risk becomes an operational deadline. John Furrier noted that agentic AI requires cryptographically verifiable trust, and Paul Nashawaty said quantum readiness is becoming an application architecture and software lifecycle challenge, echoed by theCUBE’s AppDev finding that 75% of enterprises use multiple disparate tools across their development lifecycle.
