Disney+ to Stream Super Bowl LXI in U.S. and More Than 55 International Markets
Disney said Wednesday that Disney+ will stream Super Bowl LXI on Feb. 14, 2027, simulcasting the ESPN and ABC broadcast in the U.S. and more than 55 international markets, plus two Monday Night Football games.
The announcement expands Disney's live sports offerings on Disney+. In the U.S., all Disney+ subscribers will be able to watch the championship game and two Monday Night Football games leading up to the Super Bowl, according to CNBC. The Super Bowl will also air on ESPN and ABC, with ESPN producing the game for the first time. Engadget reported that ABC's broadcast will be the network's first Super Bowl in more than 20 years.
The Verge reported that Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. will see the same broadcast as ESPN and ABC simultaneously. Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge will be part of the coverage. The international markets where Disney+ will stream the game include Latin America, South Africa and Australia. Engadget reported that the stream will be available in English and Spanish.
The first of the two Monday Night Football games on Disney+ will be played on Oct. 26, when the Philadelphia Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys, according to Engadget. The second matchup has not been announced. CNBC reported that the Monday Night Football games, like the Super Bowl, will be available to all Disney+ subscribers in the U.S.
Disney previously announced that ESPN would produce the 2027 Super Bowl for the first time and that the game would air on ESPN and ABC. The company has been adding live sports to Disney+. In August, it announced that Formula E races would be available to Disney+ subscribers later this year.
The move follows other streaming simulcasts of the Super Bowl. Engadget reported that Peacock carried the game last year and Tubi streamed it the year before. Engadget also reported that Disney said in August it had sold all ad spaces for Super Bowl LXI.
