DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Discounted to $395 at Best Buy
TechRadar reports DJI's Osmo Pocket 3 is $395 at Best Buy, down from $439, a $44 saving on the 4K handheld camera.
The Osmo Pocket 3 is a compact 4K camera designed for travelers, vloggers, creators, and people who want stabilized 4K video without carrying a full-size camera and a separate gimbal. It has a 1-inch CMOS sensor, three-axis mechanical stabilization, ActiveTrack 6.0, 10-bit color, stereo audio, a rotating 2-inch OLED touchscreen, and microSD storage. The sensor can record 4K video at up to 120fps, and D-Log M support gives more flexibility when color grading footage afterward.
TechRadar scored the Osmo Pocket 3 4.5 stars in its review. The reviewer, Paul, called it an "impressive camera that delivers amazing video quality and beautiful slow-motion scenes," according to TechRadar. He added that "The introduction of a new 1-inch sensor is a game-changer for the Pocket line. It results in better image quality across both photo and video, with higher-resolution video capabilities in the slow-mo mode and greatly improved low-light capabilities."
TechRadar said the combination of size, sensor, and mechanical stabilization makes the Pocket 3 particularly appealing for travel, vlogging, and shooting while moving. Its three-axis gimbal physically stabilizes the camera, which helps keep footage steady when the user is walking, following a subject, or filming handheld.
At $395 rather than $439, the saving is $44. TechRadar described the price as one of the lowest it has seen for the Osmo Pocket 3, though it noted the camera has previously been down to around $378 elsewhere. The publication also pointed readers to its roundup of the best action cameras and its advice on which DJI cameras to buy.
TechRadar's buying guidance says the Osmo Pocket 3 is worth buying for people who shoot travel videos, vlogs, family events, or other footage while moving and want something more purpose-built than a smartphone without resorting to a full-size camera setup. It says buyers should skip it if still photography is their main priority, or if they simply need an inexpensive camera for occasional video. Much of the Pocket 3's appeal comes from features such as the gimbal, ActiveTrack, and high-frame-rate 4K recording, according to the review.
