Doubao adds flight, train, ride-hailing and navigation services via chat ahead of China's National Day holiday.

The upgrade centers on core travel needs. In addition to hotel and dining reservations, Doubao has added flight booking, train ticket purchase, ride-hailing and navigation. Users can describe what they need in natural language, such as "book me a flight from Beijing to Shanghai tomorrow" or "call a car to Capital Airport." Doubao then identifies the intent and completes the corresponding service call, so users do not need to switch among multiple apps.

Doubao also launched a dedicated "Travel with Doubao" entry. It highlights high-frequency recommendations in four areas: map navigation, transportation, hotel accommodation, and food and entertainment. The company said the entry offers more travel and trip suggestions.

The travel service upgrade relies on partnerships with several leading service providers, according to Leiphone. For flight and train ticket booking, Doubao works with Flight Manager and High-speed Rail Manager, which the report said ensures supply coverage and service stability. Users can ask Doubao in the chat flow to search flights, compare prices, book online and manage orders. For ride-hailing, Doubao has partnered with Cao Cao Mobility and other platforms to offer capacity from multiple brands. For navigation, Baidu Maps and other partners provide technical support, including route planning and real-time navigation for bus, subway, driving and walking.

A Doubao representative said the National Day period is the year's most concentrated peak for travel demand. Family visits, long-distance tourism, nearby outings and dining in other cities overlap, increasing users' one-stop demand for checking routes, booking tickets, hailing rides and making itineraries. The representative said the upgrade aims to use AI's low-threshold natural language interaction and ability to connect multiple scenarios to give users more choices in travel decisions.
