Doubao Upgrades Work Tasks with Virtual Desktop for Windows

Doubao released an update enabling its Work Tasks mode to operate Windows PCs via a new virtual desktop, powered by general GUI capabilities.

The virtual desktop is based on more general GUI capabilities, allowing the model to understand and operate the interface without MCP, API, plugins, or CLI. It can run applications, browse the web, and complete cross-software tasks in a non-intrusive environment, without seizing the user's mouse, keyboard, or interrupting current work. Users can watch the operations in real time and pause or take over tasks at any time.

To use the feature, users need to select Work Tasks mode and local computer on the Doubao PC client, choose "Operate Computer" in the skill bar, and input task instructions. The virtual desktop then manipulates the screen, mouse, and keyboard like a human. The latest Windows version of Doubao PC must be downloaded from the official website, with authorization and initialization completed in the Work Tasks mode. Users can also initiate tasks with the "Operate Computer" skill and follow Doubao's guidance to update.
