Doubao Work Adds 'Goal' and 'Plan' Modes to Its Task System
Doubao Work has added Goal and Plan task modes on its PC version, alongside a task queue, Markdown file editing and a dark mode, according to Leiphone.
Goal mode is aimed at complex tasks that carry explicit acceptance requirements. In this mode the AI checks each requirement item by item before delivery and keeps working until the acceptance targets are met, an approach the product team says prevents substandard handoffs and keeps execution from drifting away from the original task.
Plan mode is intended for long-horizon tasks that consume substantial resources or come with vaguely defined requirements. After a user enters a prompt, the AI first produces a plan document that can be reviewed and edited. Execution begins only after the user confirms that plan, which makes the process more controllable and the consumption of computing resources more reasonable.
Alongside the two modes, Doubao Work added a task queue, support for editing Markdown files and a dark mode, among other interaction changes.
Doubao Work is a newly introduced agent product and brand that Doubao built for productivity scenarios, and it was officially launched on August 25. In the roughly one month since, it has iterated at a rapid pace, adding support for multiple agents running in parallel, GUI-based operation of computers, local Office file editing, and free switching between task execution environments.
Doubao's 2.1 Pro model also completed a minor version upgrade recently. The model performs strongly in multimodal programming and delivers professional agent tasks more reliably, which the company ties to Doubao Work's value in productivity settings.
