Dreame L60 Ultra PE Offers Flagship-Like Features at $1,100, Review Says

Dreame's $1,100 L60 Ultra PE offers flagship-like features and reliable cleaning, Android Authority says.

Android Authority reported that the L60 Ultra PE has 30,000Pa of suction pressure, extending brushes and heated water systems. Its base station stores clean water and detergent, auto-mixes them and washes the robot's mop pads with heated water. The station also holds a dirty water canister and a dry debris vacuum bag. The water canisters are sufficient for about 1,200 square feet of mopping at a lower moisture setting, while the vacuum bag is rated for up to 100 days of dust collection, the review said.

Setup was simple, according to the review. The robot needed its mop pads attached and the base station needed only the ramp installed; the rest involved filling the detergent and water. Initial mapping was quick: using cameras and LiDAR, the robot mapped about 400 square feet of floor in roughly five minutes. It took time to clearly identify a step down into the living room, but from the first clean onward the reviewer did not have to rescue or correct the device.

The review said navigation was nearly perfect. The L60 Ultra PE bumped into odd-shaped furniture legs and bunched up a soft bath mat, but it never became stuck, did not fall into the living room and learned the area. The reviewer said that reliability mattered more than paper specifications, because other robots may have better stats but this one required no time fixing issues.

Cleaning performance was strong, Android Authority said. Dual Flex Arms push the sweeping brush and right mopping pad to room edges and corners, and the vacuum had enough flexibility and suction to pick up pine needles and similar debris. The mopping system produces water temperatures up to 212°F (100°C), effectively steam-cleaning the mop pads for sanitization. The reviewer said default clean timings suited the space, and settings allow adjustments to how often dry debris is emptied, how wet the mop pads get and how often the base station cleans them. The app includes scheduling.

The robot also uses what Dreame calls an Advanced Vision System, which can identify more than 220 common household items, according to the review. According to the review, this helps protect children and pets and keeps the device from trying to clean toys or USB cables. The L60 Ultra PE can manage floor transitions up to 0.87 inches tall, or 1.57 inches for a double-layer step, and is designed for zero tangle with anti-tangle hair designs on the brush and vacuum rollers. Battery life cleaned about 400 square feet in roughly 50 minutes. Dreame's technology can also identify particularly messy areas and initiate a second pass by analyzing dirty water collected while the robot is cleaned at the base station.

The reviewer found living with the L60 Ultra PE superior to the high-end Dreame X60 Max Ultra tested earlier in the year. The L60 Ultra PE showed no tangles, did not need to be rescued from socks or flimsy rugs, did not require adjusting objects that other robots tend to knock over, was on track for months of use from the dry storage bag, and rarely needed water tank replacement. Android Authority added that despite its on-the-ground performance and hassle-free experience, the L60 Ultra PE lacks some finesse found in high-end robot vacuums.
