Dyson Launches Total Restore Service for Vacuums and Wet Floor Cleaners

Dyson launches Total Restore, a £99.99 door-to-door clean and repair service for vacuums and wet cleaners in Britain.

The process begins with collection from the customer's home. The machine is sent to Dyson's service and repair centre in Chippenham, where engineers carry out an engineering assessment covering airflow, battery health and motor performance. They then perform an industrial-standard deep clean, fix repairable faults, and replace damaged or worn components with genuine Dyson parts.

When the work is complete, the cleaner is returned with a label showing the last service date, along with any replacement filters or wet rollers required. Customers also receive digital photos, a digital health check report and a digital certificate of service.

Dyson Total Restore supports cordless vacuums from the Dyson V7 through to the V16 Piston Animal, as well as wet cleaners including the Dyson WashG1 and PencilWash. Customers can log in to their Dyson account and select the My Products page to check whether their machine is eligible; eligible machines are clearly labelled.

Jake Dyson, Dyson's Chief Engineer, told TechRadar's Ruth Hamilton in a recent interview that the service offers consumers a better service and allows the machines to be looked after and given a second wind. "So, if they come in for a spa day, they go back in the same condition they were when they were new," he said. "So, you always start again on the reliability curve and the abuse curve."

TechRadar reported that Dyson Total Restore is currently only available in Great Britain, but it is expected to roll out internationally in the future.
