Dyson unveils full-size HushJet fan-purifiers with star-shaped nozzles
Dyson introduced three full-sized HushJet fan-purifiers at an IFA 2026 event in Berlin, featuring a star-shaped nozzle design and prices starting at $599.
The new design debuted earlier on the HushJet Purifier Compact in September 2025 and the HushJet Mini Cool personal fan, but the full-sized range scales the look up considerably. Dyson engineers said the star-shaped nozzle was inspired by aviation engineering and is designed to minimize turbulence, creating an airflow that is both powerful and quiet.
TechRadar, which tried the fans at the event, reported that the airflow felt significantly more effective than Dyson's loop-style fans. The editor said the devices were "blown away" by their power, but also suggested the styling would be divisive and might look more at home in an office than in a living room.
Like many Dyson fan models, the HushJet units combine several functions. In addition to circulating air, they work as air purifiers, and one model can also serve as a heater. The top model, the Dyson HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde air purifier, is designed for large spaces such as offices and can capture a wide range of pollutants, including formaldehyde. Two medium-sized models for home use are the HushJet Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde and the HushJet Hot Cool Pure+ air purifier, which replaces formaldehyde capture with heating capability.
Pricing is as follows: the medium-sized HushJet Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde costs $599 in the US, £549.99 in the UK and AU$999 in Australia; the medium-sized HushJet Hot Cool Pure+ air purifier costs $599 and £549.99, with Australian pricing to be confirmed. The large HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde is priced at $1,099 and £899.99, with Australian pricing also to be confirmed.
Availability varies by market. In the US, all three models go on sale in fall 2026. In the UK, the large and medium formaldehyde models launch in October, and the heater model arrives in December. In Australia, the HushJet Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde arrives in October 2026, with the other two expected in early 2027.
When asked whether the HushJet range would eventually replace Dyson's loop fans, a company representative suggested that might not happen, saying the loops are instantly recognizable as Dyson appliances.
